The Reading Room is situated approximately ¼ mile off the A140, halfway between Cromer to the North and Aylsham to the South.The turning off the A140 is signposted: by road to Aldborough. The turning is on the right if you are coming from Cromer and on the left if you are coming up from Aylsham.After turning onto Church Road continue for approx. ¼ mile and you will see the sign for the car park on the right hand side.

If you are travelling from further away for our special day, the nearest train station is Norwich Station (NR1 1EF) and the nearest airport is Norwich Airport (NR6 6JA). There are plenty of AirBnBs and hotels in the local area. If you need a list of recommendations of places to stay or details for local taxi companies, please get in contact and we can provide them to you. If you are relying on taxis to travel to and from the venue, please ensure that these are booked ahead of time.

If you’re coming from far away or have never been to Norfolk before, you’re in for a treat! Here are some of our favourite spots to consider adding to your visit.

Sea Palling beach

NR12 0ALThis county is famous for its stunning and expansive beaches, and any one you visit will be a winner. However, the one at Sea Palling has a special place in our hearts. It’s Katie’s main childhood beach and holds lots of fond memories for the both of us - most importantly, it’s where we got engaged ❤️Keep your eyes out for the seals that love to relax on the sand or pop their heads out of the water!

The Recruiting Sergeant

NR12 7EESituated in Horstead, this pub is easily one of the best for food in the area. Make sure you bring an empty stomach, as the portions are massive - chances are you won’t have to consider dessert!If you like woodfired pizzas and having a pint by the river, we also highly recommend a visit to their sister pub - The Rising Sun (NR12 7EA), which is further down the road towards Wroxham.

Slice + Dice

NR2 4AGIf you’re big old nerds like us (let's face it - you probably are) and love board games, we highly recommend a trip to this lovely café in the city. They have a vast range of games to play while you munch, and their super delicious menu is entirely vegan. A very welcoming and fun space.

Wroxham

This is considered by many to be the heart of the Norfolk Broads. This charming little village is the perfect place to hire a boat and explore the beautiful wildlife on the water. Make sure you visit the equally famous Roys Department Store (we recommend the white chocolate and raspberry muffins in the Food Hall)!
